SkillsPlus Program (May 2010 to May 2011)

READ is working with the Community Social Planning Council and Bridges for Women to deliver on-the-job Essential Skills training to 200 employees in the retail/wholesale/grocery and tourism/hospitality sectors. Funding is provided through the Canada-British Columbia Labour Market Agreement. If you would like to participate, please contact our project team.

In 2009 and early 2010, we worked with the Community Council to offer on-the-job Essential Skills upgrading to employees in the retail/wholesale/grocery and tourism/hospitality sectors. Funding was provided through the Canada-British Columbia Labour Market Agreement.

Workplace Learning Phase 2 Research and Programs: Discovering Learning Needs

In 2009, we worked with companies in the retail, food services, and accommodation sectors in BC’s Capital Region to analyze the basic skills training needs of their employees. Funding was provided through the Canada-British Columbia Labour Market Development Agreement.

Workplace Learning Phase 1 Research

In 2008, Service Canada funded the READ Society’s year-long project to research employer and employee workplace learning needs in BC’s Capital Region.
